A child specialist is a mental health professional with extensive experience in working with children of divorce. As a child specialist, I will make observations of the family dynamics and each individual child. I will seek any and all input that will aide clients and the team in making the best decisions for the children when developing the parenting plan. Circumstances for the present moment and the future will be considered, to avoid situations where a decree may need to be modified as children mature. As a child specialist, I will not put the child/children in the middle of the decision making, as this would be detrimental to the minor/s.
